A snow-covered cabin.
Christmases past and present.
One grieving mother.
Broken promises.
Cryptic gifts.

In an attempt to escape the constant reminders of her grief since she lost her beloved son, Kyle, last Christmas, Gerri Phillips heads back to her hometown of Slater Falls, Rhode Island.

The snow-blanketed cabin is welcoming, with the comforting scent of home-cooked chicken noodle soup; it both warms her and casts her mind back to the comforts of her own childhood, before her life became complicated and before she lost everything she held dear that one fateful night.

Alone and isolated as the snow continues to fall, the creaks of an unfamiliar home alert her mind to the possibility that she's not alone. As she questions her sanity, wondering if she is as damaged as her family believes, she calls the local sheriff to witness the strange gifts that keep appearing with no trace of how they got there.

Some secrets refuse to stay hidden; some need to be revealed and then burned, smothered in a blanket of smoke before true healing can begin. Will Gerri be able to decipher what's really happening, or is her mind too broken?

NewInBooks says:

"Silent Night is a chilling psychological thriller that unwraps grief, gaslighting, and buried truths with each eerie gift—pulling readers into a tense, emotional spiral where nothing is as it seems and the final present may be the deadliest of all."
